A Calabasas concrete contractor who explains the pour

How I learned concrete on a crew

I learned concrete as a helper on a small crew, hauling, setting forms and cleaning tools next to people who'd done the work for years. That's where I saw that the part nobody looks at decides how a slab holds up: the ground under it, the forms that shape it and the steel inside it. I started Precision Calabasas Concrete in Calabasas in 2020, and those three things still get most of my attention on every job.

Homeowners call us for driveways, patios, steps and walls, and property owners call us for slab and foundation work too. We're best known for taking the time to explain a job before we pour it, because I'd rather answer one more question in your driveway than leave you guessing after the concrete's set. You can see everything we build on our home page.

What you can count on from us

These come from mistakes I watched get made when I was hauling and setting forms, and they're how we keep those mistakes off your job.

The person who estimates is there for the pour

I come out myself to look at your job and write the estimate, and I'm on site with our crew when the work gets done. What we talked about is what gets built, because nothing gets handed to someone who wasn't there.

The base gets the time, not just the finish

We dig out and pack the subgrade, the ground the slab sits on, instead of raking dirt level, and we check where water runs so the slab doesn't fall toward your house. When a budget gets tight I'll trim the finish before the base, because a slab on loose dirt settles right along with it.

Honest answers about cracks

Concrete shrinks as it dries, so most slabs get some small cracks, and I'll tell you that before we pour instead of after. We cut control joints, grooves that give a crack a straight place to form, early enough that the cracks land where we chose.

How a job goes with us

We're fully licensed and insured, and every job, from a set of steps to a slab foundation, runs through the same four steps.

  1. Call or send the form

Call (747) 269-3817 or use the form on our contact page to tell us what you're planning, and we'll reply within one business day. We pick up seven days a week, 8 AM to 9 PM.

  2. I come out and write the estimate

I look at the ground, the drainage and what's there now, then write a free estimate on site with no obligation to book. The size of the job, how easy it is to get to, how much old concrete has to come out and the finish you pick are what move the price, and I'll walk you through each one.

  3. We check the permit

Whether your job needs a permit is up to the city or county, not us, so we check with the office that covers your address before we start and work through what they ask for with you. Retaining walls and other larger projects can need plans reviewed first, which can set the start date.

  4. We prep, pour and let it cure

Our crew digs out and packs the base, sets the forms and steel, and plans the pour around the midday heat so the top doesn't come out weak and dusty. I'll tell you how long to stay off it while it cures, the wait while the concrete gains strength, and it's satisfaction guaranteed on every job.

Get a free estimate at your property

I'll come look at the job myself, so your answers come from the person who'll be there when it's poured.

If you've got a question about a crack, a sinking slab or a job you're planning, send it our way and we'll talk it through.
